Global Challenge: Data Science/AI/Robotics and Sustainability

Engineers are the liaison between scientists and the public, taking theoretical principles and applying them to the real world. I would use my education at NYU as the foundation for a career dedicated to research and engineering in sustainable energy.

Bio:

I am a rising sophomore majoring in Applied Physics at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. I was born in London, but have lived most of my life in Madrid, Spain. I grew up in a multicultural household, with firm roots in northern and western Spain. I always planned to study in the US and after my first year at Tandon, I am thrilled to have landed in New York City.

I believe that it is more important than ever to develop technologies and systems that are both economically viable and environmentally sustainable. This summer I did an internship at CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) in Madrid, where I explored my interest in sustainability by working with a team focused on creating biodegradable plastics from organic waste such as avocado pits.

As a former competitive swimmer, I enjoy keeping active and playing different sports. I also love spending time with my friends exploring the city and going to the movies.
