James Adams

Dr. James Adams, CFA has been an Adjunct Professor of Finance and Risk Engineering since 2019 and teaches Financial Risk Management. Dr. Adams has over 25 years of industry experience leading Derivatives, Rates, Foreign Exchange, and Investor Services businesses at J.P. Morgan across sectors and regions. 

Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to recruiting, training, and mentoring talent, training professionals at J.P. Morgan, conducting client presentations, conferences, and seminars on corporate finance and risk management, and pursuing academic research from a practitioner’s perspective.  As a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder for over twenty years, he has co-authored several CFA Institute Fixed Income curriculum readings used by candidates worldwide in pursuit of this prestigious designation.  

Dr. Adams is a Senior Director of Learning Content and Experience at CFA Institute and a Member of the Board of Sokoman Minerals Corporation (SIC.V) in Canada.
